Interview to @thebakingroom.rd

In the midst of the quarantine, we had a conversation with our Junior student Isabella Subat. We are amazed to see how productive she has been!

What inspired you to start this business, and how did this quarantine change you?

I had this business before but with another name and this quarantine made me open it again and develop more my love for baking.

When did you identify your love for baking?

I’ve always liked to baked since very little but I started selling them like 6 years ago!

What are your expectations with the business?

I hope that in the future I can expand this business and apply all my knowledge from school, life and college and turn it into something bigger.

Do you think this business as part of your career in the future?

Yes! Absolutely… I am investigating baking colleges where I can apply for next year.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself with a store, maybe two! Nobody knows! Just doing what I love.

How is your day to day in this business and how do you intertwine it with your studies?

Sometimes it gets really tight because while I am listening to the teacher I am serving some clients and even baking for the orders I have later on the day.

How long have you been in business?

As I said before, I have been around 4 years but this year I decided to change the name to what is now called The Baking Room.

What did you do before this?

I baked In my house everyday until one day I said to myself why don’t I start selling them?

What is your favorite part of working in the business?

I love satisfying my clients, sometimes I get messages that when I am really tired It cheers me up and reminds me of how much I love what I am doing.

Where do you see this company in the coming years?

Growing, growing and making it an actual store.

What are the current goals the company is focused on and how do you work to help achieve those goals?

My goal right now is satisfying my clients and making them want more. That is why I keep updating my menu every 2 weeks so people can have more and more options.

How are you marketing your products?

I have an Instagram page and through the whatsapp groups

What has been the level of acceptance of your customers?

VERY good, I would never imagined I would achieve what I have achieved in less than two weeks.

How has your growth been since the beginning of quarantine until now?

It keeps increasing everyday more and when I see that It inspires me and makes me continue loving what I do.

My take away as I covered this story of success: Witnessing the work of the Baking Room made me realize that the fact that we are home, doesn’t rule out the fact that we can still do what we love and do it with love and care!
