Positive things about Covid-19

Did you think that living within what is happening with the COVID-19 pandemic has only a negative impact on our lives? When was the last time you had so much time with your family? Do you ever think that this virus could help nature and our environment? Do you ever think you are giving your best day by day? Yes! I’ve thought that too. Living this quarantine has helped see positive things happening in the world through COVID-19.

One of the things that I’ve enjoyed the most is family time. Watching movies, playing board games, eating together more often unites us more as a family, which is the best feeling in the world. Also, I’ve been in contact more than ever with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends thanks to technology.

In addition to family time we have the environment, which is improving exponentially in the whole world due to the lack of CO2, which is created by the smoke from cars and planes. Thanks to the quarantine, which forced minimum transportation, in the month of April, CO2 emissions reached an all-time low for the last ten years, Venice canals are becoming crystalline, there is clarity of the sky, and the air is cleaner than it has been in years, just to mention some environmental benefits of our current situation.

Another positive thing is that some are taking advantage of the time after school or home office to read or for a hobby. I even have more time to do my homework, to learn more about designing things with a 3D printer and programing my EV3 robot. In addition to that, there is not much rush in our daily life. In addition to having more time for yourself, many of us are using that time to help and collaborate with the ones in need.

It is during this time where you need to appreciate what is really important, such as your family, health, and what you have. I challenged myself to do my best in this condition and now, I challenge you to do the same!
